Faith Healing
In Matthew 9:20-22, a sick woman touches the hem of Jesus’s garment.
20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.“ 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
We like to see miraculous signs to strengthen our faith, but that really isn’t necessary. If we require a visible sign, then is that really faith? Faith is not seen but it is felt. This women’s trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was so strong that she knew if she was just able to touch Him, she would be made well. She did not need a huge crowd, or any attention to be set on her. Her faith had a personal relationship with the faithfulness of God through the Lord Jesus Christ. Notice the words of Jesus Christ carefully, “YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL.” I thank God that He works the way He does. He expects to be glorified because of who He is not not by the works that He performs and we must glorify Him because of who He is and not what He does.
