New Prophets or Old Sinners?

Servant of Christ Jesus

In Matthew 11:9-10, Jesus is speaking of John the Baptist:

9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. 10 For this is he of whom it is written:

‘ Behold, I send My messenger before Your face,
Who will prepare Your way before You.’

My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, let’s make sure we are in tune with the word of God. John the Baptist preached the coming of the Messiah leading sinners to repentance. He did not preach a different word of God. In the same sense, we must be watchful and discerning, testing all things, not to accept just anyone who claims to be a self-proclaimed “prophet” from God.  What they are saying must be inline in with the word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. When someone claims to come with some new vision or explanation of the gospel, beware! That is nothing more than old sin skinned with fancy wording. God’s appointed will preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as presented by the spirit of God, adding nothing more to it, nor removing anything from it. Keep in mind, God tells us who are prophets, we do not tell God who His prophets are.
