Blinded
In Matthew 11:14, Jesus says, “And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come.”
If is such a strong and powerful word that makes a huge difference in any situation. How many times do we find ourselves saying, “if I did this, or if I did that, things would have been different?” “If” can be used to show regret for a mistake or in happiness for not making a mistake. Jesus points out if the people paid close attention to the Law and the Prophets, John would have been Elijah, and they would have clearly seen that He was the Messiah. However, being stiff-necked and having hardened hearts and ears, they were blinded by their traditions and sins and lost sight of who was to come. Their traditions and sins became their golden calf. Are there anything in our lives that blur our vision of our Lord Jesus Christ. IF so, burn them into the fire until it is no more! God bless.
