Cry Out to Jesus!

Servant of Christ Jesus

In Matthew 14:30, when Peter saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

We fall and start to sink many times for one particular reason. We always seem to take our eyes off God. We need to stay focused. We should not look to the left or to the right worrying about our conditions. We should trust in the Lord, staying focused on God. We usually speak negatively about Peter because he took His eyes off Jesus, but how many times do we take our eyes off Jesus? We are quick to judge Peter, but we should judge ourselves. The difference between Peter and ourselves is he had the sense to cry out “Lord, save me!” immediately. How long does it take us to cry out to God when we are drowning? Instead of looking down on Peter, there is a valuable lesson to be learned from him. We all take our eyes off God from time to time when it seems we are surrounded by our circumstances, but we must cry out to the Lord much sooner than later.
