Everyone Wants Respect…
In Matthew 14:32, it says when Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind ceased.
The world always tries to bring God down to the level of man or man up to the heights of God; even we as believers can fall into that trap at times. We must be very careful. Everything God created obeys His voice except us (humans). We are a stubborn set of creation. Men always say that their wives don’t “obey” them or listen to them or respect them, etc. Seems like the world rebels against God and disrespect Him constantly, yet still expects respect from everyone else. There is a chain of command starting at God above all, then very far behind God it works its way down. If true respect cannot be shown towards God, the Creator of the universe and everything in it, how can we ever truly respect one another. We have the ability to obey the voice of God through believing in Jesus, but we are wicked and selfish. The world has this mentality that it does not need “God as a crutch.” We once had that mindset as well when we lived for the world. We were just so strong weren’t we? Slowly but surely it all crumbles down. We were all so desperate to make it on our own until we saw how impossible it is. I know we have all been their at some point in our lives. Praise the Lord He is so mighty to save. When we finally came to our sense, we turned to Him, He then quickly put away all of our foolishness, our sins, and all other unrighteousness we carried in our hearts. He began a much better and greater work that only He could start. Thank God we are finally done wasting our lives away, trying to do life on our own ability.
Maybe you are reading this and you are yet to have that new life, a life redeemed by Jesus Christ? Are you still singing the blues? The Word of God says many times “Sing to the LORD a new song!” We can only sing a new song by receiving new life, Jesus Christ in our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls. He is our salvation, our strength, and our refuge. Call out to the Lord Jesus, ask Him to forgive you, save you, redeem you and to help you until the day you see Him face to face.
