The Blessed Hope in Jesus Christ
In Matthew 16:27, Jesus says “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”
This is the blessed hope that Paul speaks of in His final epistles toward the end of his life when writing to Titus. This truly is the one and only Blessed Hope. Many times we use the term hope in the sense we would really like something to happen but there is no certainty it will. However, the biblical definition of hope is something that is guaranteed to happen but just hasn’t yet. We need to have the same hope living in us to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is coming back to take us home. He told us He went to prepare a place for us. I truly believe Him. The promises of God are not something that “might” happen. God has been keeping every single promise He has made and I know that He will continue to keep them. Many times our hearts are weary waiting on the Lord to deliver. We then want get things done our own ways and then we fail miserably. I can’t even count how many times I’ve messed up that way in my personal life. When we put our trust in Jesus Christ, all of our worries, concerns, insecurities, are nailed to the cross as well. We must be patient just as the Lord has been patient with us. God waited all these years for us to finally realize we can’t do it on our own and now we want to rush Him in all aspects of life. Unbelievable. If He could save us from Death itself, then He has all the power to deliver us from any day to day situations we may face. Before consulting with anything or anyone else, we should get on our knees and communicate with God first so He can give us the perfect answers we desperately need.
