Beware of Men

Servant of Christ Jesus

In Matthew 10:17-18, the Lord Jesus Christ warns His disciples “But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

The Lord Jesus Christ warned us of what will happen to us for His name sake. We will be persecuted by men and by the world. When we preach the truth of Jesus Christ, the truth of the cross, it causes two reactions: conviction or condemnation. Those who are the sheep of Christ Jesus will be convicted and repent of their ways, deny themselves, pick up their cross, and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. However, those who are not His sheep will feel condemnation. We are are not condemning them, but the word of God is allowing them to condemn themselves. We surely cannot save ourselves but we can surely condemn ourselves. Those who are condemned will try to silence and persecute us to deliver us tho those in “high” places with false accusations. However, we KNOW that there is only ONE in the MOST High place. Let us not be afraid because God is with us in ALL situations and circumstances.

Understanding God’s Judgment

Servant of Christ Jesus

Continuing through Matthew chapter 10, Jesus tells the disciples before sending them out in Matthew 10:15Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!

So many times we end up judging those who reject the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is not our responsibility. God will judge all who reject His Son, Jesus the Christ who died for the sins of the world, but rose again to give us new life. All who are in Christ Jesus will not face judgment for their sins because they are covered by the blood of the Lamb of God, lest God pass judgment on His only Son again. However, those who are not in Christ Jesus will be judged for their sins because they are not covered with His righteous blood. No matter what you believe, it is illogical to believe that we will be judged for both our good and our bad. Our bad will always outweigh our good, and the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God will always outweigh our bad.  Now those who never heard the gospel will be judged because they are still sinners, but those who have been exposed to the Lord Jesus Christ but rejected it will be judged far more worse.
