Freedom In Christ

Servant of Christ Jesus

There is freedom in Christ! Jesus died to pay the cost of all our sins. The cost was death. The Man with no sins died for men who were filled with evil hearts and a sinful nature. Jesus said in John 8:31-32, “If you abide in MY word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

However, let’s take a moment to examine the statement “freedom in Christ.” I have seen many “Christians” involved in acts that they know they should not be involved in as a child of God, and a representation of Christ. Yet, they go around living their lives miserably, trapped living in the sins they know are wrong, but yet they proclaim the word of God to believers, as well as non-believers. Some believers are able to look past the iniquities of believers who are trapped in their sins; however, non-believers look upon believers who are bound by sin as hypocrites (which they are) and that there is no need for salvation if those who supposedly follow Christ do not follow His word full heartedly.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this MUST be said. My brothers and sisters in Christ, the freedom in Christ is not a freedom to sin. God will never approve of sin, no matter what the sin maybe. The biggest confusion always happens when we play with words, especially with the words of God, which is a sin in itself. Let me clarify this for ALL. Jesus freed us from our sins; He did not give us freedom to sin. If we cannot comprehend this, then we are not truly saved and do not have the privilege to call ourselves a Christian. Continue reading
